Introducing the Zennies!

zenniesFirst there were the Fitties. And then there were the Noshies. And now, we are happy to announce that Fit Bottomed Zen is the home of none other than the … Zennies! (Fitting, right?)

What are the Zennies you ask? Well, they are — at the most basic level — things that bring us zen. Things that don’t just make our life easier, simpler and more beautiful, but also products and other ideas and services that make us feel more relaxed, more peaceful, more in flow and totally awesome.

Now, this site is just a little more than a month old, so we don’t have a TON of Zennies this year — just a mix of items from all four of our sites that we adore and that think deserve a little extra special recognition as best-of-the-best. There may not be a lot, but the ones we have are ah-mazing. (We imagine in the years to come we’ll break things down more by categories, but for now it’s just a hodgepodge of awesome.) Check them out!

2016 Zennies (First Year, Ever!)

Best all-natural cleaning product that works like RuPaul: EverdayHappy. Fewer cleaners needed with fewer chemicals. That’s a winning combination.

Best candle: Archipelago Lavande Soy Candle. Made with lavender essential oil, just seeing it makes us feel zen. Let alone lighting it!

Best self-massager: InstaShiatsu+ Neck and Back Massager with Heat. It digs in, changes patterns and switches direction, and all the while, you have the ability to pull it deeper into your shoulders (or back, or quads — it can really work on just about anything) for a lighter or firmer touch. It’s like having your own massage therapist there, at the ready.

Best feel-good jewelry: Danielle LaPorte Dogeared Jewelry. Gorgeous, inspirational truthbombs on a chain — that are gorgeous. (We love them so much we’re an affiliate!)

Best yoga book: Everyday Yoga by Sage Rountree. You can get good yoga in a book? Yes, you can!

Best way to shake off a bad day: 10-minute yoga remedy for a crappy commute. Never let a bad drive ruin your night again. Neva!

Best yogini secret: from Shiva Rea. “Erase the word work and replace it with the garden of your life.” Um, yes. How life-changing that is.

Best new yoga studio chain: Yoga Six. We kind of want to live there.

Best multitasking jewelry: COR Pendant. It’s like taking aromatherapy with you everywhere … plus it looks très chic.

Best meditation app for beginners: Headspace. Years later, and we still love this one.

Best inspirational journal: The Desire Map Journal. Danielle LaPorte does it again. We love this journal so much that ALL of the FBGs have it and use it daily.

Best and most life-changing book: Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. Seriously. Read it.

Best way to start the morning: a simple yoga flow for an awesome morning. Much better than rolling over and checking your phone, huh?

Best book we haven’t gotten our hands on yet: You Have Four Minutes to Change Your Life by Rebekah Borucki. We can’t wait to read this one. Love Bex!

Best crass tank: this one. ‘Cause that’s how we roll.

Best not-crass tank: this one. ‘Cause sometimes we also roll to places with kids and grandmas.

Favorite Teddy bear: Meddy Teddy. Too. Cute.

Favorite product shop that gives back: Goods Giving Back. Awesome products and they all give back. Beautiful.

What product would you give a Zennie to? Let us know and you just might see it on the list for next year! —Jenn

  1. I am a HUGE fan of YogaGlo so if you were to add a category for best online yoga classes, that would get my vote.

Also, thank you so much for including Goods Giving Back. It certainly brings me peace knowing that each product provides a very deserving nonprofit with much needed support.
